Well I actually got it to work... Had to change the properties on redsn0w.exe to xp compatability mode and run as admin. But once I got it started up and then booted into tethered, I tried to install Five Icon Dock and it froze up on me.
I just tried it on my other computer and I managed to get it to partly work, well the cydia icon appeared on my ip4....but it appeared as a white box and it's unable to open. I think I'll just wait for an untethered solution. I'm gutted, I managed to JB my 4.1 with no issues, now I'm like crackhead going cold turkey waiting for this 4.2.1 JB solution.

You then have to rejailbreak it but instead of selection the option "Install Cydia" on Redsn0w. You have to select the option "Boot into tethered mode."
What you mean that's all I had to do? ...I just bloody restored it again to factory settings..oh man, OK here I go again. So just so I'm clear on this, as long as I don't turn my phone off I can use it as if it was untethered, but once I have to restart my phone ...Redsnow will be required to use cydia again?

I managed to jailbreak my phone using the walk through but I found it to buggy to continue trying to use my phone in that state. Several times I had to restore my phone back to factory setting because when certain apps where added to the phone like MY3G, or 3G Unrestrictor, Cydelete when rebooting the device back up it would just freeze on the apple logo. Any now to make matters worse when I connect my IP4 to Itunes even after the handset has been restored to factory settings, Itunes keeps freezing as well as my laptop. Had I not had the opportunity of having my 4.1 JB before I ended accidently ungraded to 4.2.1, maybe this would seem like just an issue, but knowing how seamless everything was on 4.1 I may as well just hold out for the untethered 4.2.1 to become available, and hopefully it will work as good as 4.1 was for me. As anyone had any freezing issues when they connect their IP4 to Itunes, if so is there a solution? Also what is the ETA of having stable untethered 4.2.1 for all?
