Cydia Re-Install ??

3G, Baseband 05.12.01, FW 3.1.3 -

Cydia showed that i needed some updates - i guess my wifi was not good enough and the updates "failed" i think.

Now i can not start Cydia at all - it acts as if it is starting, but then stops and goes back to the standard iphone screen.

what would be the best way to re-install Cydia to get it working again.

You can ssh into your iphone using iphone browser or winscp and put the latest version of Cydia 3366 into Cydia/autoinstall.
If your cydia still crashes, shift + restore to 3.1.3 in itunes. Jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.9.4 but browse to stock 3.1.2 firmware.

Whats the reason to use the 3.1.2 FW?

ok - Now would it be worth the 4.2 Upgrade via the SAM activation???

I am on Tmobil and don't think i have the official ATT sim.

A 3G doesnt run as well on 4.0 and up.
