Okay. So now, my Cydia loads extremely slow. Just sits on downloading packages. I'm on the new Cydia. Any one else?

When you install Cydia, Cydia cannot see your installed packages. You should always update Cydia via the terminal. Unless you saved your available and status dpkg folder before you installed the new Cydia you'll have to reinstall all of your packages.

By the way, it would seem that the ispazio repo is causing the POSIX error infinite downloading problem in Cydia. I uninstalled the repo and everything is fine. When I tried to add it again Cydia could not find it. So, most likely it is ispazio.

Not as far as I know. In the dpkg folder there are 4 files, status and available then status old and available old. When install Cydia it replaces those files so it doesn't recognize your installed apps. By reinstalling all of your apps it allows Cydia to then recognize them. This is the only way I know how to fix your situation if you have not made a backup copy of the 4 files or ran the update via mobile terminal.

By the way, the files are in /private/var/lib/dpkg

@buguy67: did you manage to get everything sorted out correctly? Let me know if you need any help. I'll do my best. Been in your exact predicament before and I know how aggravating it can be. Let me know.

Hey man. I finally got around to reading this thread again, and I yes it does seem to be ispazio. But how did you delete it? I click edit in my manage tab and it doesnt let me uninstall it..along with all the other packages that came with cydia. Any help would be grand! I bet I'm missing something realllllly simple here...

Okay. First step is navigate via ifile or ssh to private/var/lib/apt/list and delete everything except for the partial folder. Once you have done that, then navigate to: private/etc/apt/sources.list.d
Once there open the cydia.list file. Delete any source entry you want to get rid of. After you have edited the .list file, save, go back to your springboard and respring. Should be good to go. However, this morning I see that I'm now getting the POSIX error again and I do not have the ispazio source. Not sure, but probably Cydia maintenance. Try the method above. This works 99.9999% of the time. If it doesn't work there is one more thing we can try, but involves a much more in-depth method to 110% remove any offending source/program. Let me know how it goes and good luck.

Update: deleted everything in the lists folder except for partial. No more POSIX error. Usually, deleting the items in the folder works.

thankyou for responding. I've done what you said, and when I'm in the cydia.list it only shows repos that I have added myself..not the ispazio one..and now in my cydia is shows no repos and won't refresh them :s

Hm. Have done a hard reboot? And made sure to only delete the sources you needed too? Not the whole Cydia.list?

Glad to hear it. Yeah, ispazio can't even be found by Cydia. No ispazio for me for a while.

This just started happening to me last night. Nothing is showing up at all for packages.
Which now got fixed by installing a package. Phew.Last edited by that_girl; 01-17-2011 at 11:53 AM.
