Default iPhone 3GS stuck in endless reboot after RESET (JB using redsn0w with ipad patch)

    Hi All,

While attempting to apply the unteathered jailbreak for iphone 3GS (previously jailbreaked using the ipad patch: version 4.2.1 + 3.2.2) I reset to delete content and media through my iphone.
after-which it shut down and wouldn't load up.

I tried putting it out of DFU mode using redsn0w, I tried restoring using alt/restore, i tried pwnage tool - so far, the most I could get is to put it into DFU mode. I can't get it out.

I'm seriously stuck, and would appreciate some help here!

when trying to restore with itunes I get the 1015 error.
when trying pwnage tool I get 'wrong firmware' (i tried both 4.2.1 and 3.2.2)
Redsn0w simply doesn't do anything that i can report. just reboots the device back into an endless loop of reboots.

    Your help will be appreciated!

    Two routes here:

If you have iOS 4.1 SHSH blobs--restore to a PwnageTool-made iOS 4.1 from pwned DFU mode in iTunes and using TinyUmbrella's TSS Server to deliver your 4.1 SHSH blobs to your iPhone. Error 1015 is NORMAL, just use TinyUmbrella's Kick Device Out of Recovery function and you should have an untethered jailbroken phone.

If you only have 4.2.1 SHSH blobs--restore to a custom PwnageTool-made firmware (if you need one, I can provide a link). The firmware will require pwned DFU and redsn0w 0.9.6b6 to jailbreak after restore (and, unless you have an old-bootrom, to act as the bootstrapper in every tethered boot). 1015 errors on this restore are normal as well.

Thanks orbyorb for your detailed response.

If you can send me a link to the PwnageTool-made firmware, that would be superb, as i'm begining to think i'm more of a noob than i originally though

    Thanks!
