    Default DFU Problem

Hey. I can't seem to get an 8gb 3G iPhone into DFU mode at all. The phone was at first running ios 4.0 and after many attempts to enter DFU i decided to upgrade to 4.2 just to see would it make any difference. It didn't. I have another identical iPhone that i can get into DFU mode on my very first attempt no problem. Does anybody know what may be causiing this?

Does the home button and power button work properly? Also when you try to enter dfu does it take a screenshot?

Yeah, home button and power button do as intended. The phone doesn't take a screenshot. The apple logo appears and stays there and im sure it is supposed to disappear, isnt it?

Also, does it make a difference that there is no SIM installed?

Ya the apple logo should disappear about the 6-7 second mark when holding both buttons. It doesnt matter if a sim is installed or not.
