Unhappy Finally updated 3GS from 4.0.1 to 4.1...but not without problems

    Hello,
As some of you may know I was having an issue with my new bootrom 3GS updating to 4.1. I was stuck in recovery mode for a few days before finally being able to restore it (thanks to iAnnie!).
So after getting 4.1 up and running a few hours passed by and I started to notice some problems that I've never had before and have no clue how to fix them. I would have added this to my previous thread but it's seriously a whole new set of problems so I decided to start a new one. Let me get down to business:
I updated new bootrom 3GS from 4.0.1 to 4.1 using pwnagetool and redsnow on my OSX. From there, here's a list of my issues:
1.) Battery drain: Literally, 10 minutes = 10%. I've never had my battery drain this quick. I've gone on trips with this guy plugged in (at about 95%) the whole time while running one GPS app and the phone will stop charging, drop to below 60%, then take the next couple of hours trying to get back to 100 (which it rarely does). Hell, I've got an external battery that can charge my phone three times over that I carry in my bag and the other night was the first time this sucker drained COMPLETELY in one cycle......that just can't be normal.
2.) Temperature: Haven't tested it too often but my average temp runs 109-120 degrees F. I know that can't be normal either.
3.) Terminal: I try to access mobileterminal to change my root password and it just crashes, it has yet to open successfully a single time.
4.) Push notifications: I seldom receive any and it appears that I'm getting them from people I don't even know (names in different languages pop up then when I try to check them the app shows no such person sending me a message).
5.) App store: Can't download anything, says the security code is invalid. I double and triple checked my security code along with the status of my funds and both are correct yet I still can't download anything.
6.) Location services: Haven't tested this one sufficient times either but I've noticed that eventually my location services stop working altogether and I have to respring to bring it back.

So until I get any of this fixed I have a phone that I have to carry with a charger plugged in at all times and can't make any itunes purchases. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

1:Use SAM to fix your battery issue.
3: You need a 4.0 and up version of terminal, just google for the right repo
4: SAM again will fix this, it is all related.

i had the same issues on my iphone 4 until I restored to 4.2.1 and set up as a new phone. Now I still have battery drain but it's due to the firmware. You can google it and see you're not the only one, but as far as the push notifications issue, the restore resolved that.

I spoke too soon, it actually didn't work. Still overheating and draining the battery and still not letting me login to the app store

    Anyone?

If you restored from backup after the restore there may be something in there that is causing the battery drain.

I have only used SAM once so not too familiar with it. Did you reboot after deactivating and then get iTunes to activate it again?

The guide didn't mention rebooting after deactivating so I just gave that a shot. So what would be a good test to check if this worked?

Ya see if that worked. Try to do all you can first before having to restore. You can also try uninstalling ultrasnow, reboot. Then do the SAM method again rebooting after deactivating. Then activate again, reboot, then install ultrasnow again.

I must be cursed! As you know I did get my phone running but was having to walk around with a charger connected so it wouldn't die on me. I haven't had time to try your solution yet since I've been so busy with work, I was just happy the phone worked, period.

Well, today I was going to attempt your walkthrough but last night I apparently forgot to plug my phone in to charge. Obviously, it died. I had it plugged in to the wall for a solid five hours and when I get back I find the apple logo to still be on the screen, WTF. As soon as I unplug it I get the battery dead logo and it shuts off.
I connected the phone to my computer and pulled up itunes.....it says my phone is in restore mode.

    W T F !!!!!!!!!!

It seems this occurred because my battery drained completely. WHY?!?!?!?!?
I thought everything was under control minus the battery situation so I had skipped backing up my phone the last few days, is my media screwed? I'm a photographer and had some brand spanking new photos that only existed on my phone.......please tell me they're not gone

Redsnow 0.9.6rc7 is latest although b6 will work too. Pwnage tool is for custom firmware. Redsnow is what you need to boot tethered.

How long should I be expecting the pineapple to be on my screen for? Been on it for about five minutes now

**now it's back to the apple screen and has been there for almost 10 minutes now

*** Still sitting at the apple logo, it's sat there and flashed a few times but still no reboot

****ok, confirmed, still in restore mode
