so after I do all that is there anything else I need to do? I shouldn't need sam prefs, right? If I don't need that then do I need ultrasnow at all?

Now back to my previous questions: Since I had my root folder backed up last month is there a way I can restore my cydia packages without having to go through the painful process of adding each one over again?

You wont need SAM now, you will still need ultrasnow if you want to unlock.

There are tools in cydia that can restore all that stuff but they can cause issues sometimes. I always prefer to install all my cydia stuff manually to avoid any problems.

you're gonna love this; ultrasn0w just killed my service. I was installing a few packages from cydia, ultasn0w being of the. When I rebooted my signal was gone, and I'm forever in "Searching..." and of recently "No Service" as well. Do I need to go back into redsnow and deactivate and let itunes activate it?
Ofcourse this would happen while at friends instead of at home.

No, you dont need to use deactivate in redsnow for anything. What sim card do you have in there right now?

because I misunderstood. Plus, when I was JB on 4.0.1 I still had ultrasn0w installed, somehow that had improved my battery life then.

Soooo....am I going to have to restore again?

wow, for some reason I had the crazy notion that you had to have an internet connection to access cydia. Talk about a brain fart.
    Thanks again

I still appear to be having push notification issues, only seems that 1-3 apps total are actually notifying me. As for the rest, I periodically have to manually check them. My notifications are on and all the apps that use them are on there, so I don't know what I'm missing.
One more thing, everytime I respring my device all my folders and icons get reset to default locations for some reason. Pretty bothersome when you have 300 apps installed on your phone

Sounds like just regular iphone issues to me. Push notifications can depend on the app makers servers and my apps sometimes go back from where I moved them too after a respring. I use itunes to put them in place and they usually stay there that way.

    Bummer! Thank you either way.
Hey, I haven't had any luck on my other thread about this other topic, maybe you could help?
If not that's fine as well, it's not that important.
The topic is regarding the Faceit package for facetime on the 3GS and whether or not it will work with the HD enabler installed at the same time. I've read a few threads with a post here and there where the user states these two cannot both be installed at the same time to operate at all. The HD enabler on my 3GS already crashes the app enough, I wouldn't want faceit coming in and bringing down the whole OS.
