Notifications off-center after 4.2.1 jailbreak
Until yesterday, I had not upgraded or tried the tethered JB'd 4.2.1 on my iPhone 4 - but with the new untethered "backup plan", I moved forward. Untethered wouldnt work for me, so I just reverted to the new-to-me tethered JB of 4.2.1
Today, I'm noticing that notifications, while in an app or at the home screen, show up off-center to the right with about a quarter of the notification off the screen. Notifications while the phone is locked appear fine.
Anyone else experience this?Last edited by McMike; 12-27-2010 at 04:27 PM.

On a 4.2.1 iPad I work on (tethered JB), I don't see this...
Could you link a screenshot of one of these notifications (nothing personally identifying, of course)? It could just be a redsn0w/firmware glitch or something... hard to tell.

I haven't tried rejailbreaking. The first time was a pain with repeating 1013 errors.
Even after editing my host file manually and using TU, I kept getting the error. Had to DL the firmware and do Option+Restore. But that's a different problem._____________________________________________

That's actually typical behavior when using TinyUmbrella to preserve the iPhone 4's baseband--usually the "Kick out of Recovery" button will end that hang-up in short order.
--Anyway, I'm sorry, I wish I could be more helpful, but I've honestly never seen this before. I can only recommend the iPhone equivalent of "take two aspirin and call me in the morning," i.e., restore your firmware.

Having the same problem as OP
Anyone managed to come up with any kind of solution, or reason for this? I really didn't want to have to re-jailbreak either since it was a pain with the tethered.
