Default Upgrading from 4.0.1 to 4.1

Hi. I am now on an iPhone 4 with ver. 4.0.1 jailbroken. I would like to go to 4.1 and keep my jailbroken apps without going to 4.2.x and loose my jailbreak. When I go to Cydia it shows shah 4.0.2, 4.1 ect on the top. . I understand I can go back if I was at a higher version but can I go up? Secondly what happens to all the apps. Appbackup and backup flags for a second and does not open up so do I loose all my jailbroken apps if I am able to go to 4.1. Thanks for any help.

Whenever you restore or update you always lose all your jailbreak stuff. You just have to reinstall them again.

Yes you will be able to go to 4.1 since you have SHSH for it.

Thank you so much. I don't claim to understand how I have an shsh for 4.1 when my iphone has never been above 4.0.1. But am happy I somehow do have it. Thanks again.

Its because once you save your SHSH for the first time cydia will save SHSH for every firmware after that.
