Default Someone double check me if I were to attempt to restore my iphone 4 right now

Suppose, *knocks on wood*, something got screwed up and I was forced to restore to make everything work again. Currently I'm on the following:

    Current settings
    ----------------
    model: iphone 4
    firmware: 4.0.2
    baseband: 1.59
only SHSH fetched under Cydia or iSHSHit app: iOS 4.2.1

After doing research, theoretically I'll be forced to upgrade to iOS 4.2.1, which upgrades my baseband to 3.10.01, which will disable my unlock and can no longer use TMobile until the unlock is released. Is this assumption correct? Please advise. Thanks!

Coo thanks. I'll be sure to tread carefully until January. That's the latest I heard on when the unlock will hopefully be released.

Sort of correct. There are custom bundles for Pwnage so you could restore to 4.2.1 while keeping your 1.59 BB. Then you could jailbreak with redsnow, and unlock as normal. However, the jailbreak will be tethered (for now) and you'll need to use a computer to boot it if you run out of battery or restart for any reason.

I've been using the above setup on my iP4 for a few weeks with no problems. I reboot once a week and monitor my battery life just in case. I do have a portable battery pack if I can't get to a charger, but so far I haven't needed it.
