Try it again with Limera1n. If it doesn't work, then you might have to restore to 4.1 again only if you have 4.1 shsh blob.

The iPod touch 2G (I know it was sold as a "3G," but it's just a special model of the second-generation) is a particularly difficult nut to crack jailbreak-wise.

redsn0w doesn't harness the correct exploit for that model of device, PwnageTool cannot cook the firmware for it, limera1n isn't designed to work on the 2G, and greenpois0n only works on iOS 4.1.

Please download TinyUmbrella (The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella) and run the program with your iPod attached to your computer via USB cable. Click the "Save SHSH" button and see what appears. Apple may still be signing 4.1(!) for the iPT2G.

If you see an entry that reads "4.1 (8B117)--xxxxxxx" then we'll take you down the downgrade-to-greenpois0n route, if you only see an entry that reads "4.2.1 (8C148)--xxxxxxx" then the only route I know of is a complicated command-line tool that may only be compiled for Linux and OS X.

Let's hope we see the 4.1 entry.

    Excellent.

Please download the stock 4.1 IPSW from Apple (http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/06...7_Restore.ipsw).

Once downloaded, start TinyUmbrella's TSS server (click the button that says "Start TSS Server"), and then place your iPod in DFU mode (connect iPod to computer, turn it off, hold home and power for 10 seconds exactly, and then release power but keep holding home until iTunes pops up about "iPod found in Recovery mode").

After you've entered good ole' DFU, hold down Option and click Restore in iTunes, navigate to the 4.1 IPSW you downloaded, restore to it. Once restored, download Greenpois0n (http://greenpois0n.com , the site may be having issues at the moment), put your device in DFU mode again, and then run greenpois0n. Once GP is complete, you have a jailbroken iPod.

    Good luck!
