Successful jailbreak on xx050 iPhone 4

So. Sorry if this has been discussed, but I saw that there was some concern after a user couldn't jailbreak his iPad that had an xx050 serial. I just bought an iPhone 4 yesterday with an xx050 serial and I was able to tether with Redsn0w 0.9.6b4.



Just thought this would be helpful to those wondering if their iPhone/iPad is jailbreakable.

You should be able to jailbreak it and I don't think apple has changed the hardware yet.

Yeah I totally screwed the pooch on calling that one. Tipped off Taimur myself way too early before ruling all other possibilities out.

I had bad USB hardware (I don't understand exactly what the problem with it is, because I can use it to sync, charge and jailbreak iOS devices on 4.1 using redsn0w), not a patched unit.

I even dumped the bootrom to double-check--hasn't changed.

Cue egg-on-face apologetic comments.

Gotcha. Cool bro, sorry about your USB problem, but that's a huge relief that Apple hasn't patched it. As soon as I saw that article, I went and JB'd just to see if I could; I was originally holding off for the full untethered.

Good luck jailbreaking the thing bro (if you haven't already). My dad's JB'd iPad is his best friend.
