Default Strange Occurrence on my 3G

I am running iOS 4.2.1 jailbroken by redsn0w on my 3G. I use Tlert to allow sending text messages from the lockscreen and other apps by tapping the status bar. Everything has been working fine until last night.

I had just launched Tlert to send a text to my daughter when the door bell range so I just stuck the phone in my belt holster without closing or locking the phone. When I came back to the phone and unlocked it the status bar was in the landscape position and the rest of the display was portrait and the key board was visable with the home screen showing above it. The touch screen actions were are messed up. I rebooted the phone and it took a long time to boot up and finnaly started in safe mode with the display acting correctly. Since Tlert was the last package I had installed I turned it off and resprung the phone and all is well.

Has anyone run into a situation like this? and is there a fix or away to avoid it other than doing what I did?

    Thanks!

I have seen it before. It is a bug with tlert when using the lockscreen to respond and you change the orientation.
