iphone tethering

hi i have just got a iphone 3g ios 4.1 of ebay

if i jailbreak using redsnow will it be boot tethered or is that only an issue with 3gs

The 3G is untethered. I am running 4.2.1 on my 3G with a redsn0w jailbreak and its been a nice perfromance upgrade from the 3.1.3 I was previously using.

had no trouble with the 2g i had

looks like apple am making it a bit of a knightmare

will jb now (boot tethered seems like a pain)
