    Woah, woah, woah.

Be VERY careful with Cydia 1.0.3366-1 and your 3.1.2 iPhone. There is a reason that version hasn't been pushed to all devices as an upgrade--that reason is IT'S QUITE UNSTABLE, IF NOT OUTRIGHT BROKEN, on iOS 3.x and earlier.

In this situation, though I'd advise re-installing Cydia as a general course of action, I cannot exactly recommend installing /that/ version.

If you find the new Cydia FUBARs your phone, restoring your firmware or trying to get a fresh older version of Cydia are good places to start.

If, however, you find Cydia 1.0.3366-1 works well on your iPhone, please share. It'd be great news to certain developers' ears.

When I add the repository to add iFile, Cydia closes out and won't open again after that. I have tried 20+ times for diff repo's. I try and use IPB, but for the first time, I receive a message that my phone is connected but not JB and no afc2 service found. I'm at a loss as to what to do and I refuse to live by crapple's nazi regime policy. Any idear's? Thanks in advance. Even though a solution still hasn't been found, I do appreciate the help and effort from all of you.

You dont need to have iFile to put Cydia on, but you do need to shsh into your phone.

I use iFunbox as it's easy to use.

Just follow the guide i have put at the start of the thread and get the new Cydia from there, its in a Zip file but when unzipped will be a .deb, Just follow the guide of where to put it and re boot your phone.

If you are still having trouble i have attached the old Cydia and just do the same with that and reboot and that will take you down to the old Cydia

So I tried the iFunbox, still no joy. It says I need a JB device. I do however like the functionality of it more that IPB. Interestingly enough, I've been researching my issue for about 10 days. I noticed a pattern that always came back to blackra1n being used to JB. I recall JB my wife's phone (3.1.3.)with Spirit. I tried that method and it seems to be holding; I have gone into Cydia multiple times and am able to now add repo's. I've been doing this for a couple years and never had this issue. So I'm not exactly sure as to what happened. I do however would like to thank both pratt1503, and iYeow for their help. BTW, pratt, 1503...Is that OC?

This is like brain storming . If this is a 3g, why don't you restore to either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, then jailbreak it with Redsn0w 0.9.4 to solve all your problem. You can setup as a backup restore to get back all your itunes stuffs.

I think he meant OK so his OC is = to OK

I think someone must write a writeup of all the terms and short forms that are going to be used here , just joking.

lol, in California, 1503 stands for Orange County (OC) "O" is the 15th letter in the alphabet and "03" is "C". Learned that tid bit when I was younger and was in trouble with the law. But now I'm married and it seems I get in more trouble with her...

I have been using 3.1.2. I tried using redsn0w, but it said my FW was incorrect. I've always used that OS, so thats why I was so perplexed when I was having such an issue with it. I just haven't let Cydia update itself, I think it might runit to problems again if I do. Now that I can access my phone, I might just try the new Cydia copy paste dealy for S&G's.

Yup, try that out. When you run redsn0w 0.9.4, you browse to stock 3.1.2 , not 3.1.3 firmware as this redsn0w was created for 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 firmware is close enough to do the jailbreak.

Hi, I am currently running the newest cydia version provided in earlier posts in this thread. I had an outdated source and cydia would crash every time I passed by it on the packages list. I downgraded cydia via the version provided by limera1n and when I went to my packages, none of my installed ones show up. They are still installed and functioning properly as if they are installed. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would love to use the new cydia, but I first must uninstall the package that was causing the crash. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!
