Very poor battery performance when jailbroken

Hi

I recently got a 16gb 3g from America to replace my broken 3gs. As such I had to jailbreak / unlock it. The problem is I'm experiencing absolutely terrible battery life (maybe 3 hours on standby). This makes the phone practically unusable as when I'm out and about it dies so quick. I bought a new battery and changed it but that hasn't helped at all.

I've looked all over the web but there doesn't seem to be anything comprehensive on how to fix / help this. Is there anything I can do?

What firmware is it on and did you hactivate it or activate it with a official carrier sim?

Had to hacktivate it as it's on AT&T and I don't have a sim for them / know anyone who does.

Already have SAM installed. Seems to be working a bit better this install, although still far from perfect!
