Default No text messaging after jailbreak - PLEASE help! :(

Just upgraded my 3G 8GB jailbroken/unlocked phone using djmalice's guide here:

COMPLETE Guide to Unlocking & Jailbreaking iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3G & 3GS

Was running 3.1.2 with baseband 5.11.07 Just upgraded to 4.2.1 with baseband 6.15.00

I re-entered settings for T-mobile for cellular data and MMS as follows:

    Apn: internet2.voicestream.com
    Username:
    Password:

    Mms

    Apn: epc.tmobile.com
    Username:
    Password:
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
    MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

Did a sync with iTunes and restored all of my apps, contacts, music, etc.

Everything works great, except I can't send text messages. No MMS, no plain text. When I try I just get the dreaded red exclamation mark. No errors, no messages. Can anyone please help??

    Thanks!!!

All I can immediately think of is either the APN mismatch (doubtful) or you're not drawing an IP address from T-Mobile (you can check that one with SBSettings installed, just look for an IP, usually 26.0.0.0/8, under Data IP).

You can see if you're receiving SMS/MMS messages by e-mailing <your ten-digit phone number>@tmomail.net. If that's not working, might be worth calling up TMobile to make sure their end isn't down or texting somehow got blocked on your account or something.

If neither of those seem to be the issue, try resetting Network Settings.

After that... well, restoring the phone is also an option.

Thanks for the reply orby! I installed Cydia pushfix.info and then installed the T-Mobile US MMS fix for iOS 4 from there.

Text messages are working just fine, but when I send a pic in text it doesn't get to the source (pic too big). I know I've read a thread/solution here but can't seem to find it.

Message on the other end is: 'The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction'.

    I have a 3G 4.2.1 BB 6.15.00.
edit just the following on your network:

    MMS Proxy 216.155.165.050
    MMS Max Message Size 61440
    MMS UA Prof URL http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/W800iR101.xml
The rest of mine is the same as yours, and my pics are perfect. Sending and receiving.

And those settings worked for you? Do you not need a port number at the end of the MMS proxy (:8080)?

    For MMS...

Make sure your Carrier field under Settings->General->About reads Carrier x.x and not Not Available or AT&T. Also double-check MMS messaging is enabled under Settings->Messages.

As for my personal T-Mobile iPhone, my (working) APN settings for MMS match yours exactly with one exception: my MMSC is http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms as opposed to that one (which was giving me trouble IIRC).
