I think I bricked my 3gs.... any help would be nice
IŽll list in order what I did to my 3gs. First I have an Iphone 3gs 16g from U.S.
1.I upgraded to FW 4.2.1 stock
2.I restore from my Backup settings to get my contacts and apps
3.I used Redsnow to upgrade de BB to 06.15.00 and unlock to use with another carrier.
4.It worked fine for a long while...
5.I got an Iphone 4 and I gave my gf my 3gs..
6.I tried to just restore from the backup of her iphone 3g, and something weird happened like both our settings were in my 3gs. The iphone had all her contacts and stuff, but it wouldnŽt sync any apps or books.
7.I tried to restore to stock 4.2.1. It failed as I was told when I upgraded the BB
8.I tried to run redsnow and reinstall cydia and the BB 06.15.00. This also failed...
9.I tried to put in DFU mode with rednows and restore to a custom 4.1. with no BB. this also failed... (my shsh are saved in cydia, and I am starting a TSS server with TinyUmbrella before attempting to restore with Itunes.
I get errors 1600 or 1604 the restauration process is never completed...
Any help would be apreciated... I am hoping maybe the custom FW that I downloaded are bad...
I think IŽll try to restore to custom 4.2.1 witn no BB, but I read you cant kick out of recovery mode from 4.2.1....

Put your iphone into normal DFU mode and restore to stock fw of 4.1 if you have saved your 4.1 blob with cydia.
Use exit recovery to kick out error 1015.

That is normal dfu , try in recovery mode . Make sure you have itunes 9.2 to the latest.
If you are restoring to custom 4.1, then you have to use redsn0w 0.9.6b6 to put you into dfu mode and then restore to cfw of 4.1Last edited by iYeow; 12-19-2010 at 01:52 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Sometimes iTunes can mess around, if you have Xcode, use the "Organizer" window to restore your device to what ever version. You will still need to use TinyUmbrella for the SHSH server though. If you dont have Xcode, get it from "http://developer.apple.com" and sign up for a free account.

Sorry, I have no links to a custom firmware (mainly because of forum rules and the legality of it), however you can create a custom firmware on Windows using Sn0wBreeze.
