Smile Itunes 10/3G 4.1 Sn0wbreeze Backup Issues...any updates on fixes?

So I have read many posts about the issue where once a user jailbreaks their iPhone using Sn0wbreeze, they are no longer able to backup their iPhone (actual error says "itunes could not backup the iphone because a session could not be started with the iphone".

I have that issue as well. I googled several "solutions" to the problem, one of which instructed me to delete pre-ios4 backup, so now I have no backup whatsoever.

Now I am seeing posts that say I have to re-jailbreak using Sn0wbreeze without selecting hacktivation, however if I do this I have no backup to restore to and will loose everything. So I am reaching out to see if anyone has discovered a fix for backing up that does not require wiping the phone all over again??

Running Windows XP, Iphone 3G, FW 4.1, BB 05.07.11, used Sn0wbreeze 2.1, unlocked with ultrasn0w, on T-Mobile. Not an expert hacker but can follow directions pretty well being that I have JB's and unlocked my phone three times, however I was able to restore to backup prior to deleting it once I started having these issues.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated as I believe Modmyi is the best source for all things iPhone!

This can be fixed if you don't let Snowbreeze hactivate it for you, use your official sim card to activate.

When you say "official" sim card, do you mean an AT&T card or just my regular T-Mobile sim? If I re-jailbreak, I know I will lose everything on my phone, but will my iTunes data still be there to put back on my phone? I have always been able to restore from backup so this makes me a bit nervous....

You can always restore from backup but not recommended. Official/Valid sim means the official carrier for that particular iphone model. If bought in the states, then it would be ATNT.

Then I cannot use that option. I have T-Mobile. I no longer have a backup because I deleted it trying to fix this backup problem. So I guess I am stuck with no backup capability until someone comes up with a workaround:-(.

If you have deleted all your backups in itunes, then you cannot do a backup restore. You can still sync contacts, notes, photos and videos or even outlook emails onto a newly restored device through itunes.
I usually use a third party software to backup all my stuffs like stocks, sms , notes, maps saved, contacts and many others.
