what should i do?

I tried tinyunbrella and it said it couldnt grab my SHSH

From what iv seen i need to download the new PwnageTool to write its own custom firmware so i can save the BB im in now.

The easiest thing to do would be to stay on 4.0.2, jailbreak with limera1n and then unlock with ultrasn0w.

If you run tiny umbrella and click save shsh and you don't see any 4.0.2 or 4.1 shsh blob, you cannot restore to this firmware anymore. Your next restore either to custom fw or stock fw of 4.2.1 will be your next firmware.
You can jailbreak your 4.0.2 with Limera1n and unlock with Ultrasn0w from Cydia.

well i ran tinyum again and it did save some shsh for 4.2.1 but i dont have that installed...i have 4.0.2.... and it showed it couldnt get me any for the other various versions.

Just use limera1n on 4.0.2. You will want to stay away from 4.2.1 for now until it is untethered for all devices.

so geos limera1n will work.. seen there is a good 4.0.2 adn a later version that noone supports idk if i have the later one...

Yes limera1n should work fine to jailbreak on 4.0.2

well the limera1n worked but now i have redsnow .9.6 up and its asking for the current ipsw like normal but i cant seem to find the 4.0.2 on felixbruns killer site. 4.0.1 is there but found it on http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/06...0_Restore.ipsw

so should i keep rockn, i thought 4.0.2 was the devil or something?

Why are you using redsnow? Just stay on 4.0.2 for now until there is a better method of updating and unlocking. Install cydia with limerain and unlock with ultrasnow.

o ya ultrasnow, man all these wack names and snows wtf were they thinking, should call it jailbreak with 1 and unlock with 2.

ok so open cydia on the phone and ultrasn0w is done through app on your phone...cool

ok great so ran ultrasn0w through cydia and done. Sim card works... thats so easy.. man i did it a year ago it seems on the 2g n it was all complex... well this was too but theres are so many variations and variables now.

now i hope my battery life doesnt change... i pawnaged my 2g to unlock and if the sim card was in the phone it would warm up and last like one day... idk what that was all about but not even worth the unlock when that ish is going on.
