Can I jailbreak BEFORE activating my iPhone 4?

Hello,

I have a brand new iPhone 4. I plugged it in to the computer but have not activated it yet.

I was wondering if I can jailbreak it now BEFORE activating it, or if I should wait to jailbreak until AFTER activating it. Does it matter?

if your with the official carrier then activate before running a jb program due to hacktivation will give problems with signal if your on official carrier
