Can I jailbreak my 4.2.1. iphone 4?
Just bought brand new iphone4 ,its 4.2.1
can i jailbreak it?

You can jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.6b6 but it will be a tethered jailbreak.

is it worth doing this? with the tethered nonsense? shall i wait till it becomes untethered?
what exactly is this tethered stuff? will it cause me hassle?

I did it on mine and am fine. Once setup it isnt that bad. You have to use redsnow to boot tethered everytime you turn off or reboot though. You may want to hold off until it becomes untethered if you dont like the sound of that.

I'd rather have a tethered boot than no JB, I went months being tethered in the blackra1n days. But this JB is only semitethered, meaning if you don't have anything installed from Cydia that affects the SpringBoard, you can boot normally

Ya, anything worthwhile in cydia will cause it to not boot without doing it tethered.
