    Default iPhone 4 w/ 4.0.2 & 01.59.00 upto FW 4.1 thru TinyUmbrella

    Hello Fellow iPhone Junkies,

I just want to make sure I've got this correct before trying it for the first time.

I have an iPhone 4 with 4.0.2 & 01.59.00 on it jailbroken and ultrasn0w unlocked. I just want to bump up the FW to 4.1 (don't really want 4.2.1 due to tethered JB issues). I just received this phone last week on 4.0.2 and it was not previously JB'ed so I was only able to use TinyUmbrella/Cydia to save 4.2.1 and 4.2b3 SHSH hashes (no 4.1 hashes saved).

I should still be able to use TinyUmbrella to update the firmware only to 4.1 while retaining the unlockable 01.59.00 BB, right? Or will the lack of 4.1 hashes prevent an update/restore to 4.1?

If I CAN go up to 4.1, do I do it with "Start TSS Server" enabled or not? Do I do the "restore" or "update" option on iTunes to get up to 4.1 FW?

    TIA!

No, you can't go to 4.1, if you want unlock stay at 4.0.2

So it's just like everything else SHSH, where the lack of 4.1 SHSH hashes saved is preventing me from doing the update to 4.1?

But I guess I can use TU to go to 4.2.1 unlocked on 01.59.00 if I want to deal with the headaches of a tethered jailbreak?

If TU can help you to preserve your 1.59 baseband, you will end up with error 1015 in recovery mode and no tool will get it out, just because of the IOS 4.2.1 fw will do a baseband check. In other words, you have to restore to stock 4.2.1 and thus upgrading your BB to 03.10.xx. You will have to wait for unlock if you are not with official carrier.

    Default Jailbreak/Unlock information on 4.0.2

    Hello yenniedn

I saw you got an iphone 4 on 4.0.2 with 01.59.00 and you managed to jailbreak and unlock it. I would like to know how did you do. So far I know there's no jailbreak for 4.0.2, they jumped straight to 4.1. I tried to use a custom firmware on 4.1 to jailbreak but couldn't because of the same problem you have with the shsh. But if you could explain me how did you do on 4.0.2 I would be very thankful. Thanks

Before doing any kind of jailbreak , please go and download Tiny umbrella , plug iphone in and click save shsh first or else you will regret.
    Jailbreak your 4.0.2 with Limera1n.
