trouble with 4.2.1 3G

Hi All, not sure if this is thr correct area for this ?
My Iphone 3G is already jailbroke and unlocked. I used Redsnow 0.9.6b4 and firmware 4.2.1 and it succesfully wnet through but in Settings>General>About my firmware still shows 4.0.2(8A400) and my baseband is 5.13.04. I then tried firmaware 4.1 but still shows 4.0.2(8A400) and the same baseband. I am not getting any errors in Redsnow either. Anyone have this problem? Any help is appreciated!

redsnow does not update firmware.

Redsn0w doesn't restore iphone firmware, you have to restore thru itunes. If you do not need unlock, then point your hosts file towareds cydia or download tiny umbrella, plug your iphone in, click save shsh. If you see that you have 4.1 shsh blobs, then start tss server. Open up itunes and shift + restore to 4.1 ipsw which you can download from here :
