    Default Unable To Restore

My itunes account was hacked last night. I'm not sure if the phone I got from the guy had something on it (pre hacked) or not. I've tried just restoring/updating through itunes and through tinyumbrella (4.2.1). It will not restore i keep getting errors with either method.

To restore to 4.2.1, you don't have to use tiny umbrella to do that, just let apple verify your restore. Make sure you have the latest itunes.

I tired that on 2 machines, i had to finally try my laptop which worked. I wanted to stay on 4.1 but the blobs weren't saved for this phone even though I was told they were. Am i stuck on 4.2.1 or are the blobs out there?

    Thanks for the help.

At the time when you did your jailbreak, Apple has already stopped signing 4.1, that is why Cydia couldn't save your 4.1 shsh file.

If you dont need unlock and have used tiny umbrella you need to open tiny umbrella, click on advanced, deselect the box that says "set hosts to cydia on exit". Then close tiny umbrella and try the restore again.

Just a theory, if my machine wasn't used to save the shsh file for this phone, but my buddy did on his machine. What about copying his shsh folder to my machine? Cydia may have it on their server but it was never saved on mine. Or am i just high?

I did finally get it installed. Thanks for the help.

Just one more question, is 4.2.1 jail breakable other than a tethered jailbreak?

Not yet but the dev team just released a video today showing a untethered iPod touch 4G on 4.2.1 so they are getting close to a fully untethered jailbreak for all devices on 4.2.1

Yup i did that when i had my 3gs. But i bought this phone my friend who said he had saved the 4.1 shsh. My question is the info he has the info in the tu shsh folder. If i get a copy of his folder and overwrite mine will cydia still recognize the 4.1 blob?
