Restore, Jailbreak, Unlock. On 4.0 3gs

Im selling my phone on ebay its a 3gs 8gb and i need to restore it then jailbreak then unlock(if possible). Its currently unlocked on 4.0 but to restore im guessing apple would make me update? How can i restore and still jailbreak/unlock? thanks

You can either restore to 4.0 and jailbreak and unlock again with the help of tiny umbrella since you have 4.0 SHSH. Or you can use pwnage tool to make a custom 4.2.1 firmware which will preserve your baseband (do not do the ipad baseband thing) so that you can still unlock and go to 4.2.1

If you stay on 4.0 it will be untethered. If you go to 4.2.1 it could be tethered depending on what bootrom you have. You can find out bootrom with idetector.

so if i wanna use tiny umbrella what do i do? do i need to download 4.0 firmware then just restore using itunes or do i restore through tiny umbrella? sorry im confused
