Big cydia problem???
So there is a new update for Ukit tools on cydia it worked fine for my iPhone but for my iPad it tells me I have to remove Essential and cydia installer so I press confirm and it gives me warning that cydia may not work if I upgrade so i just cancel becuz I got scared, but now to install anything I have to do that update so should I???? I'm on spirit jailbreak so i have old version 3.2 I think.

You probably somehow did the wrong one or it could be a bad package try reinstalling it if that doesn't work try downloading it from another site then install
You should get a return of 0 for it to be all good any other codes and something failed
Did you install it through iFile or through the PC?

No it worked well because on my iphone it downloaded and installed perfectly good and I downloaded it from the same site...
I used iFile
I went to iFile again and installed it this is what it says (Not all of it)
Preparing to replace Cydia 1.0.3366-1
unpacking replacement
dpkg: dependancy problems preven configuration of cydia:
cydia depends on firmware (>=4.0)however:
Version of firmware on this system 3.2
dpkg: error processing cydia (--install)
dependancy problems leaving unconfigured
errors were encountered while proccessing cydia
finished with result code: 256
So it was working first time I did it, but then when I removed Cydia installer and Essential but then after it finished it told me there were another upgrades for cydia installer and essential I did Upgrade (2) and put confirm then Cydia crashed and it disappeared from my Dock, so I dunno do I need to download the old cydia and if I do can i have the link? Please press the Thanks button if I ever helped, you'd be helping me

The result code needs to be 0 for a correct installation
The other numbers that are possible are error codes
At this point I'd say just keep using cydia like normal and hope that they update the update to fix this issue for ppl

You could try rejailbreaking with limera1n and leaving the install cydia app(limera1n) on the iPhone but also try reinstalling cydia that way

For iPad on 4.2.1 there is only redsnow 0.9.6b6 and yes it is tethered right now. Hopefully a untethered jailbreak will be out soon.
