So long story short Iphone got messed up when the gf decided to piss about with it and due to the computer being messed up ive lost all my ShSh saves so had to restore and update the iphone to fix it which meant going to 4.2.1 OS.
Basically what i want to know is will the iphone 3gs running 4.2 be able to recive a untetherd jailbreak, According to the chronic dev team you have to have 4.1 shsh saved in order to use the untethered jailbreak when they release it. So the 4.2 will not be able to be jailbroken?
Am i correct in thinking this or could someone please point me in the right direction?
My 3gs contains the new bootrom, will there be a untethered jailbreak for it or am i pretty much ****** unless i go purchase a new iphone. Gf gets hers in January but im pretty sure hers will get here with 4.2 already installed so she is screwed to if my logic is correct...
I thought that the dev team are working on the untethered version that will require the user to have the back ups of 4.1 for the untethered jailbreak to work?
They have mentioned that yes, we wont know for sure until it is released though. If you saved your SHSH before for 4.1 then they should still be in Cydia.
Had to completly restore my phone before i had the chance to save them so basically im pretty much screwed unless they release an untethered jailbreak that wont need the 4.1SHSH
Just save them now with tiny umbrella. You should still be able to get 4.2b3. They said that one may come in handy for a untethered jailbreak too since that is the last firmware that had the untethered exploit in it.
its saved iPhone3GS 4.2.1 (8C148a) and iPhone3GS 4.2b3 (8C5115c)...... Really not clued up on tiny umbrella and SHSH as a whole any guides you recommend or a quick explanation you could tell?
Was just thinking before i jailbroke my phone i opened tiny umbrella and pressed Save my SHSH There was a 4.1 saved on my computer but when ive plugged in my restored iphone it has overwritten the old SHSH with the new 4.2 one is there anyway of recovering the old shsh that was overwritten?
Currently only have 4.2.1 and 4.2b3 shsh dont think there of any use.
Well i downloaded tinyumbrella before i jailbroke my phone and installed cydia so when i clicked save SHSH it was before cydia was installed on my iphone therefore all i had was a .shsh folder with a 4.1.shsh file in it which i assume was the SHSH save.
But since tinyumbrella had Autosave new shsh and overwrite existing Shsh ticked in the setting it has removed the 4.1 files with 4.2 and 4.2b3 files.
Not sure if what i did worked or im talking a load of rubbish just miss having a jailbroken phone and trying to work away around it .
When tiny umbrella saves SHSH it saves to cydia at the same time. So it doesnt make any sense that you cant get 4.1 SHSH from cydia now if you say you had them before. When did you save the 4.1 SHSH the first time?
