I have a 3g that was unlocked on 4.2.1 and had the baseband updated to 06.15. etc and when I plugged into Itunes it put it in recovery mode. I have searched all over the net and downloaded alot of programs that people have suggested and nothing has worked. Any ideas?
So basically you're stuck in recovery? Did you save the SHSHs for 4.1? If not you might consider restoring to 3.1.3 and jb with Redsn0w 0.9.4 (point at 3.1.2 ipsw). Then if you still want 4.2.1, upgrade back to it and jb with Redsn0w 0.9.6b6.
If you do have SHSHs for 4.1, run TSS Server from TinyUmbrella and shift+restore to stock 4.1. Then jb with Redsn0w. The reason why I say restore down is because usually the bb upgrade on 4.2.1 will cause issues with restoring to 4.2.1 again.
-.- stop typing faster than me x98car!!

I paid someone to jailbreak and unlock my phone. He jailbroke the 4.2.1 software then came a week later and updated my baseband to 06.15 and the phone worked. as soon as he left i plugged it into itunes and it went into recovery mode. i called him and he told me to hit the power and home buttons in different sequences and that there was nothing else he could do for me. Im also running off windows so my laptop wont run half the programs that people tell me to use.
If you are stuck in recovery you will need either restore to 3.1.3 or restore to a custom 4.2.1 to not get stuck in recovery. If you dont have access to a Mac just PM me and I can give you a custom 4.2.1
Should get your money back from that guy if he is saying there's nothing he can do for you. He either 1) is too damn lazy or 2) doesn't know enough to be trying to help others for money.
At least tell him off or something, it's a disgrace.
Good for you. I hope you get your phone fixed. From the sound of it, all you really need to do is follow x98car's instructions. Like I said previously, this is a common problem with restoring and the baseband update while on 4.2.1. Once you get away from 4.2.1, you should be fine. Meaning, restore down.
