    Default "Tethered" reboot

    Hi Guys,

    Simple question (I think):

Got my new iPhone 4 yesterday - running 4.2.1 and firmware 3.10.01.

I notice there is a "tethered" jailbreak for it.

I'm a simple soul, and all I want to do is SSH into it once, and change a few SMS sound files.....after these are changed, I don't need it to be jailbroken any more.

My question is, if I used this, would I need to be tethered for every reboot, or just to have the phone jailbroken? ie, will the phone boot normally untethered (and, I assume, unjailbroken)?

One further question. This is my first "legal" iPhone (ie, no need to unlock - its with an approved carrier here in HK). I just want to check that jailbreaking it won't lock me out.

    Thanks
    Hendrix

If you perform a jailbreak, it will be tethered jailbreak. It means if you do a respring, a power down, you always need a computer to boot it up or you will only see itunes cable logo or apple screen.
I don't recommend jailbreak if you are in constant need of a phone.
