Default JB 4.1 to JB 4.2

    Hey guys-

Just wondering if it is possible to go from a JB 4.1 to 4.2 without losing all the apps and Cydia.

This is more of a rookie question because I have always been told not to download the newest firmware or else you will lose your JB.

    Thanks for your help!

Every restore or update wipes away any jailbreak related stuff. There are packages in cydia that can reload this stuff after but are not recommended when doing an update as they could load something back that isnt yet compatible with the new firmware.

Before you jump to 4.2.1, you must accept the fact that it is going to be a tethered jailbreak.

Some of Cydia stuffs don't work at IOS 4.2.1 yet.

Every respring or power down, you need a computer to boot it up.
