Limera1n 4.1 iP4
Hi all, as you can see this is my first post in this forum but I have a question to go with it.
I have an iPhone 4 with 4.1 on it and was looking to jailbreak it.
I read about Limera1n in the threads below but I don't know how to go about jailbreaking. I've used blackra1n on my 3G about a year ago and worked. I'd appreciate if someone could guide me through the process and tell me which jailbreak to use. Thanks heaps, guys!
P.S. Mods, please move/delete if necessary, thanks!
Raphael

Limera1n is probably the easiest to use. Just run it and follow what it says to do.

Did you refresh sources and do any updates that it gave you to do?

You are supposed to wait for it to finish then do any updates it gives you. First run can always take awhile as it has to download everything.

Try and let Cydia load so you can update the changes. If it hangs too long, you might have caused damage and will have to restore and jb again.

When you get the error, can you just hit ok or cancel and let it reload? Or does it just crash or not load any further?
If you can't get past the error for Cydia to reload, restore and jb again is probably the best option.Last edited by i.Annie; 12-03-2010 at 06:02 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It goes in this order: I boot up cydia, Error pops up, Gives me option to tap "Okay", I tap OK, it pops up 2 more times when cydia trys to either refresh data or download it. I tap OK when the error pops up again and then cydia does nothing and brigs me to the home page. No sources or anything in sections or manage.
Once I restore, can I use my backup (pre-JB) on it and then JB?

Ok but wait, you can still get on the changes page right? Did you try hitting the reload button on the top left corner?

Hmm I guess restore then. As long as you have your back up PRE-jailbreak saved, you can restore to it just fine. Don't restore to the backup that iTunes will save at your phones current state, it will probably bring the problem back.
@x98car,
Been practicing your speed typing? Lol, I'm out of touch now.Last edited by i.Annie; 12-03-2010 at 06:09 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
