No, you cannot unlock it yet. Wait for a new unlock and don't screw up your iphone 4 by updating to ipad baseband. It will not work and you will void your warranty.
Use tiny umbrella to save your shsh blogs now so you can restore to 4.2.1 if there is an unlock available. You can only save 4.2.1 shsh blogs and you have missed out the 4.1 shsh blogs. Too late to save 4.1 shhs blogs cos Apple has stopped signing 4.1 a few days ago.

I'd suggest searching the website around here for something. I know I saw something about the iPad baseband but I'm not sure how well it works. I don't actually have an iPhone anymore.
Search unlocking iPhone 4.1 on redmondpie as well, you may find something.
