Yeha. FYI when I did the Redsn0w again the phone got stock on apple logo once again. I will try to build a new CFW the way you mentioned to see if I'll get it to work again.
Thanks.
iYeow,
Thanks for all the help. I got the phone open and have been using it for a day or so... that is the good news... yes it is tethered and I do believe there may be a way to untethered it..I can't go back to 4.1 I don't have that SHSH... any how you where right about the battery drain. I am draining to 0 in less then 5 hours.. so is there a way to fix this by changing the settings? I have done the obvious with brightness and no 3g so I wonder if there i a way to fix this before a new update will come and change the ball game...
Regards.Last edited by Nersmeister; 12-11-2010 at 03:53 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

No solution yet about the battery drain. It has something to do with the redsn0w or pwnage tools. Not sure though. You have no choice but to wait for a better jailbreak.

If you hactivated you can fix the battery issues with SAM.

I havent really seen any other battery drain but there could be some. I do know that there is excessive battery drain with hacktivated phones on 4.1 and 4.2.1. In those cases SAM should definitely help.

Hi,
OK... I did SAM on the phone. I don't think is working... I tried few times and couldn't activate with itune... but finally I was able to get it going and I still think the battery is draining faster then it should. Activation state I have WildcardActivated and SAM Stated: Loaded OK... I don't know what all this means but I would like to find out how I cam make sure I implemented SAM correctly... if is correct I don't know why is not stopping the constant acquisition for activation... so as of now the battery drain is not fixed.

Did you use Pwnage tools to restore your 3gs to 4.2.1 and then use redsn0w to install Cydia ?
As far as SAM is concerned, you have been activated by SAM.

This is the problem : Pwnage tools and then redsn0w seems to cause this issue. If you don't unlock, to avoid this battery drain, you have to restore to stock 4.2.1 without using Pwnage tools. Then use Redsn0w to jailbreak and hactivate it with SAM.
Meanwhile, if you need unlock and I remember you don't have 4.1 blob, just hang on until a new jailbreak is available.

Copy that! but I don't think I can get back to sock? I am on 5.16 I thought I had to use Pwnage to build the custom FW?

I have a copy here, same thing no cydia after restoring. I suspect after using custom fw from PT of 4.2.1, it is already jailbroken but somehow no cydia is installed. You can try it out again and then use iphone browser to install Cydia deb file. This way you bypass Redsn0w tool.
Or go to spotlight and check if cydia is there.Last edited by iYeow; 12-13-2010 at 08:41 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
