as far as I know, once loading the iPad BB onto your iPhone there is no turning back, even if you do a complete iTunes restore, and also from what I understand you cannot change your BB even if apple releases a new one. so you are stuck on this baseband for good. but I may be wrong, but 90% sure. sorry mate

wont the iphone dev team be able to reinstall a new baseband for the iphone rather then using the ipad one?
i mean if the dev team can flash the ipad bb to the phone then surley they can flash anything they like to it ?

You will be stuck with that baseband untill Apple release one above 06.15.00.
But as the exploit is in that Baseband for the iPAD you may be in luck that the next baseband to come out with 4.3 will be 06.16.00 nobody knows yet.
But you are fine on 4.2.1 with the unlock until it catches up, Just the risk you had to take for the unlock

so when apple release 4.3 hopefully they will have a higher baseband then 06.15.00 and then i should be able to restore to original firmware ?
the reason being is i have just ordered an unlock from my phone provider, tbh i think it is eaiser to just pay £15.00 for my iphone to be unlocked and then just JBreak my phone.

It is a guess but yes that would be correct, You are stuck with 4.2.1 untill the basebands catch up.
I am not sure but i think if you are not bothered about the unlock (when you get it from your provider) you should be able to put CFW on your phone but you will not be able to do a clean one until Apple catch up with you
