iPhone 4 4.1 (8B117) 01.59.00 Help Advice - Which JB method?

My phone constantly goes to No Service and seems there was no fix for this. Previously I was on 4.0.1 and I had it unlocked and jb from jailbreakme.com.

I thought by updating the firmware to 4.1 would help me. I followed the TinyUmbrella instructions and I wasn't aware that it would restore my phone to a before-activation state.

I activated my phone and now I'm on 4.1 with baseband 01.59.00. I can no longer use Jailbreakme.com. I know there is an option of using greenpois0n or limera1n. I don't know if that will update my baseband and then I can't unlock it. I really need that unlock to work since I'm in another country.

What can I do? I saved my SHSH blobs before doing all this. Should I restore it to the firmware before?

you can use either, they both use the same exploit to accomplish the jailbreak, it's really a matter of which one you prefer, no neither will update the baseband (baseband is only updated when an update or restore is done through iTunes)

Thanks. I upgraded using greenpois0on since limera1n kept giving me errors.

My antenna is worse than before. I can't get any signal at all. I'm trying to figure out how to downgrade to 4.0.1 or 4.0 to see if my antenna will be any better.

GreenPoison nor Limera1n doesn't upgrade your firmware. What you use , tiny umbrella is to help you to restore back to stock 4.1 first thus preserving your current baseband and then jailbreak with Limera1n.
I know it works because I have an iphone 4 and it works like a charm.
With your current baseband, you should be having signal.
Make sure before you use limera1n, you an official sim to trigger your iphone into Springboard.

I do have signal. Very bad signal compared to before. Maybe 10% of the time I can receive signal.

I did active my phone to Springboard using an AT&T sim, not the original sim. That simcard actually was no longer active. It only went to Springboard with that "Waiting for activation" message. After the JB and unlock, I used a local simcard to continue with the activation. Worked and got signal. Then just went to bad signals.

I have saved SHSH blobs when I was in 4.0.1 before. How do I downgrade from my 4.1 to 4.0.1? Can I downgrade to 4.0 without having saved SHSH blobs? I tried to find tutorials online but was worried that it might not be the most recent one. I'm trying to find the best firmware to solve this No Service issue.

Go get a replacement while it is still under warranty.

I can't now since I'm not in the US. Also, wouldn't the new replacement have an updated baseband or firmware? I need that unlock to work in this country.

Is there a link to downgrading 4.1 to 4.0 on iPhone4 with this baseband?

The very first question you have to ask yourself, do you have 4.0 or 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 shsh blobs. If you don't have it, sorry , nothing in the world can help you.

I do have 4.0.1 shsh blobs saved.

Then you can downgrade. You use tiny umbrella to help you verify your 4.0.1 shsh blobs.
Run the latest tiny umbrella, put your iphone into normal Dfu.
If your shsh is already in TU, highlight your device name and highlight your 4.0.1 shsh blobs.
Start Tss Server : you can tap the log button to see the progress, it should say connecting.
Now Open up itunes and shift + restore to stock 4.0.1 ipsw which you have downloaded onto your desktop.
When you finished restored, you should be at emergency screen.
Try it now.

I used another simcard and got better reception. I will try this out until it fails again then I will do the downgrade.
