Default Number 2 in right hand corner of cydia app. Unable to remove it. Cydia crashes.

    Hey guys,

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS 4.1 with Cydia on it. I just installed some .deb files using Fugu for Mac OSX. After the installation was complete, I rebooted the phone twice and saw that some of the .deb files were on my iPhone. I then noticed a numerical number 2 in red on the upper right hand corner of the cydia icon.

I read online that the number I see on the upper right hand corner of the Cydia icon means that there is (are) update(s) waiting to be installed in one or more of my apps and that I would have to launch Cydia and tap on "Changes" in Cydia to see the available updates and then update them. When I launched Cydia and tapped on Changes, it says "Loading" for a few seconds and then Cydia crashes. I have tried to get access to Changes in Cydia several times but the Cydia app keeps crashing everytime I tap on Changes to try and see the updates. How can I resolve this problem and prevent Cydia from crashing when I tap on "Changes"? And also, how can I remove the number 2 that is on he upper right hand corner of the cydia icon?

    Thanks in advance!

    Newman

P.S. - I don't know if this info is relevant but one of the .deb files that I installed on my iPhone using Fugu on Mac OSX was LockInfo. However I cannot find the file on my iPhone. After I rebooted the iPhone, a message appeared immeditaely on the screen saying: "To access LockInfo, go to Settings -> LockInfo"
However, when I go to Settings on my iPhone, I dn't see any LockInfo. Can you help me resolve this issue too? Another .de file that I installed was Gridlock but I cannot find this file also. I installed about 4 .deb files. Two of them I see on the iPhone but the two I just mentioned (LockInfo and Gridlock) I cannot find.

Again, I appreciate any help you can give me in resolving these issies.
