^x98car...
Did you see the last tweet by sherif_hashim about SAM (Automatic Subscriber Mode). It appears this is the hactivation/battery fix we've been looking for (Cydia: repo.bingner.com).

Ssh, you're both right, it's CTRL on my "Mac" (actually Windows) keyboard. My apologies. :P
X, if you're right, that pretty much confirms what I was thinking as to the location of the check. Which is useless for this firmware but won't be after they update the version numbers to be larger in future iOS versions...

You guys are freaking awesome especially X98car. Unfortunately, our LAKERS are sucking right now with a 4 game losing streak.

Lakers are just giving other teams a chance to catch up. They're just resting

Yes, all 3g can restore to 3.xx without shsh blogs. Go for 3.1.3 if you want a working iphone.

I successfully got 3.1.3 restored on my iphone 3G, and now I restored it further to 4.1. Not going further, this is my last bus stop.

I was doing fine with my unlocked 4.2.1 on 3G, but my battery sucks so tried that thing with SAM and ended had to restore because I couldn't get out of the emergency call screen.
keep getting that 1015 error, and I have 4.1 SHSH, so i went for step 1, but tinyumbrella won't detect my device! I'm the administrator of the laptop. what went wrong there?
currently running on 3.1.3 just to be safe. but would like to upgrade again. please help. thank you very much.

If you are having trouble kicking out of recovery on 4.1 with tiny umbrella try recboot instead.

I wonder, if I made it to 4.1, would the battery problem I had in 4.2.1 dissapear?
and also, on e) it says Do what you need to do to jailbreak or activate depending on if you have a official sim to activate or not. does this mean if I don't have the official sim, i can use redsn0w?and then unlock with ultrasn0w? yes? srry i'm such a noobLast edited by threader; 12-03-2010 at 01:18 PM.
