Use TU to kick it out, if it fails, DFU+Restore

Some times RecBoot works better then TU at least it did for me and there's a Mac or Windows version
I fixed mine using RecBoot
But if that doesn't work try turning it off plug it in to computer and then hold power and home then release power button when you see apple logograms but keep holding home key

I don't even know if you have 3g or 3gs .
Since you are now in recovery mode , you run redsn0w 0.9.6b5 and browse to 4.2.1 (if your iphone has 4.2.1) and check DFU mode only.
Once Done,
Open up itunes : shift + restore to either Custom firmware of 4.1 or Stock 4.1 ( you need to start Tss Server with 4.1 shsh blogs).
Once restored , go check if you have ipad BB, then you can installl Ultrasn0w to unlock.
