ok got a 3gs was jb with new redsnow, on new baseband
and unlocked

wife did a reset on the phone not knowing what she was doing, phone now stuck at apple logo

how do i do a restore , tried using new snowbreeze pointed to 4.1 to make a custom fw but when restoring on itunes i get a error 3194

how can i do a restore or get this phone back to normal, thanks all

You need SHSH blobs for 4.1 to restore to a custom firmware of 4.1. Sucks, I know.

If you've got blobs for 4.1, restore to that (either stock or custom, custom is probably better). If you don't have SHSH blobs for 4.1, you'll have to go to 4.2.1. At 4.2.1 without 4.1 blobs, the best you can do at the moment is a tethered jailbreak.

This is what you do :
Run redsn0w 0.9.6 b5 and browse to stock 3gs 4.2.1 ipsw
Check only the box that say dfu mode only.
Perform this action until you see DFU done.
Now open up itunes and shift + restore to this CFW 4.1 which will be in your PM box.
Do you want an activated or non activated CFW 4.1 ipsw.

ok restored with stock 4/2/1 fw, now its just stuck at connect to itunes logo, i tried using redsnow to boot tethered but wont go past exploiting with limerain and remains at connect to itunes logo,
also tried using tiny to kick it out but it goes right back connect to itunes logo

It is up to you if you want to keep trying 4.2.1. This is not tether boot, exit recovery will not come out because of BB check.

ok i did eactly what iyeaow said and i get error 3194 when restoring on itunes with cfw 4.1 made by new snowbreeze

Use redsn0w to put you into dfu and shift + restore to my 4.1 cfw

if its on 4.2.1 , can u not cfw 4.2.1 or dows it def need iyeows 4.1 cfw
i tried using his but get 3194

nothings working ug, from a google search seems like many are having this error, i cant fix it help, lol

ok so heres where im at so far, managed to update the phone to 4.2.1 however im still stuck at connect to itunes screen, iv tried running new snowbreeze with custom fw 4.1 to restore however i get error 3194 no matter what cfw i run, and yes iv put the phone in dfu through redsnow , im still not able to get it going, any other suggestions

3194 error = device did not receive valid SHSH blobs.

No SHSH blobs = no 4.1 (3GS) restore, CFW or stock. The custom firmwares for 4.1 untethered use the stock LLB, iBoot, and kernel cache--blobs are needed to restore to them!

Next question: is your baseband already at 06.15.00? If so, then that's an issue and explains why you're stuck in Recovery Mode. I've been meaning to experiment with ways to bypass this recovery mode (without using a 3GS I own/work on...)

If you're at 06.15.00, try using PwnageTool to restore to a custom 4.2.1 firmware with the 06.15.00 baseband (starting from DFU mode). Hopefully that will get you passed the Recovery mode...

i jailbroke and unlocked on new bb with red snow

she was trying to do something and did a reset through settings on the phone, which brought it to the apple logo

i got it to 4.2.1 i assume the bb is still the new one

how ever its stuck in recovery,

i have all windows based computers

Do you need a 4.2.1 custom firmware for a 3GS? Unactivated, no jailbreak software, 06.15.00 baseband? If so, I can cook you one here real fast (assuming this is kosher with the moderation team here, I'll link it privately of course).

EDIT: Offer unfortunately redacted--apparently PT 4.1.3 doesn't recognize iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw. Damn thing is missing the bundle.

EDIT2: I've got a /very/ minimalist bundle for OLD-BOOTROM 3GS for 4.2.1, and by minimalist I mean it'll only get you through the restore without updating your baseband; it won't even jailbreak you (you'll need redsn0w for that). It's not an easy route however, and I cannot guarantee it won't seriously jack up your phone in unimaginable ways.

In which case I don't have a way to make you a custom firmware through PwnageTool. Sn0wbreeze might be able to make a suitable new-bootrom 3GS IPSW, but I doubt it.
