Default Iphone 3gs 3.1.2 Apple logo then frozen wheel followed by reboot

    Hi all

After being helped out by Ibeej some time ago with the Rock error I now have encountered a new problem.

    Running a 3gs 3.1.2 JB and unlocked via blackra1n.
Phones been perfect since ibeej's fix but today after installing an app from the appstore the phone ground to a halt.

Had to perform power and home key reboot.

It then went to normal start up, but after a few mins of the apple logo a frozen spinning wheel appears, it spins for about 2 seconds and then it hangs for a fair few minutes before it reeboots and starts the same process over again.

I have google and searched for an answer to but to no avail.
I have at least 9 pages of apps and the last back up was a month ago, (my fault, I know!) but need some info off the handset so restore isnt an option.
Tried IRecovery etc but it didnt work.

Anyone info or help would be great.

    Many thanks

Having wasted another day looking I've tried Ireb and various other programs but im still stuck in the same boat.

Any help or ideas would be great

Check here: RESOLUTION: Blacksn0w Reboot Loop / No WiFi Signal / Reset Network Settings / Unlock - Page 6 - Hackint0sh

Post 52 is what you want. It is a modified redsn0w designed to delete blacksnow so that the phone will boot. This way you can save what you need to save. You will need to do a restore after though.

Thanks for the quick response, will give it try when i get home,
Dont see any reason why that wont run on a virtual machine.

    Will post my results later.

Quick update, followed x98car's advice and I am back up and running!!
Managed to action it all on a virtual Mac OS via VMware

    Huge thanks for your help
