Can I downgrade?

I'm currently having issues with my 3GS home button. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't so I'm thinking of sending it to apple for repair before my warranty is up.

Will apple know that my phone has been jailbroken and refuse to fix my phone even if I restore it to official firmware.

If they do fix it and the phone is on 4.2 f/w, can I downgrade to 4.1 so I can use an untethered jailbreak?

If you have 4.1 shsh blogs , then you can downgrade and hopefully your home button works while you are jailbreaking, without it , i don't know what to say.

Hopefully apple will repair the home button as the phone is under warranty unless they figure out my iPhone was jailbroken. Can apple store tell if you have jailbroken?

Just hit restore in itunes before you bring it in.

Just called apple today and I had one day left on my warranty so I'm gonna send in my phone to get the home button repaired.

I hope there's an untethered jb for 4.2 new for the 3GS soon, any news on this anyone? Will we be getting one?
