Stuck on Update

So after fiddling a good long while with being stuck on an Apple logo, I have decided to just try a restore to stock 4.2.1 I figure losing jailbreak is better than no phone. Well, my new problem is being stuck on the update screen. The bar under the apple on the iphone screen is about 1/4-1/3 of the way complete. The bar on the itunes screen is about 1/2 of the way complete. I have let it hang there for over 15 minutes with no movement whatsoever.

Well, I am at a loss. I tried the update on the macbook and it was also a no go. Same symptoms as on the PC. The macbook his brand new and has never had any jailbreak tools loaded on it at all, so it shouldn't be a process interfering with things. Going to go in to the Apple store tomorrow and see if I can get a replacement.

Not sure what happened differently, but I tried againthis morning. Looks like I am on stock 4.2.1... better than a bricked phone I guess
