Having Som TinyUmbrella issues

So for whatever reason my iPhone 4 (which is on iOS 4.0 jailbroken) is now getting hung up on the Apple logo. Of course Apple doesn't allow a restore to this firmware now. I am able to get it into the "connect to iTunes" screen and it is recognized in Tiny Umbrella, but when I click the "save SHSH" button nothing happens (more specifically the log states that there are 0 SHSH files to cache). Is there anything that I can do from here? I am successful in kicking it out of recovery with tiny umbrella, but not getting the SHSH. It also continues to hang on the Apple logo after being kicked out.

EDIT:

After doing some further reading it sort of sounds like I am SOL. Is there any way to get myself out of being hung on the Apple logo? I REALLY don't want to install 4.2 and be literally locked out of almost everything :/

There is no such thing as 0 file to cache, go to advance and cache is from Apple, you will have atleast 4.2.1 shsh blogs.

Make sure you highlight your device / iphone has to be bootable or if you know your ECID ( input it yourself)
