    Default Please Help (I-yeow)

OK i jail broke my phone 3g to the new 4.2 with the new i pad baseband 06.15 using the new redsnow. Everything worked great i installed ********** followed by swirlly mms2 when it went to reboot it was stuck on the apple logo.

Now i then went to restore it finding out that i cant without a custom ipsw for 4.2.

So i tried to just re-jail break it again but once the jail break is done it sticks on the apple logo.

One option i have not tried is using rec-boot to boot it out of recovery mode.

Do you have any other suggestions as i am without a phone until i get this figured out. Please any help from anyone would be appreciated.

if you jailbroke 4.2.1, then installed the iPad BB and then went over again with the original 4.2.1 then you will have that exact problem. The original 4.2.1 doesn't accept BB 6.15.0, you have a recovery loop that you can't kick it out of. that's what happened to me. I had to go back to 4.0, 4.1 is possible as well according to that forum

Thank you for the help. I did get it figured out after 2 hours last night. I built a custom 4.1 ipsw to restore to from DFU mode through itunes. Which does not upgrade the baseband there for avoiding the error. Then just used cydia and snow to unlock. Everything works great but thanks for the help anyway. I appreciate the the time.

lets try this. Turn your phone off then plug it into the usb then run Redsnow and choose the ios 4.1 then after that choose put into to dfu mode only dont check anything else. After that once it goes black into dfu mode open i tunes. I tunes will then read it and ask you to restore at this point hold shift (assuming your using windows)and click restore then it will ask you to choose a file to restore to. At this point your gonna restore back to a custom ipsw for 4.1 that doesnt upgrade baseband since you already have done that. Here is the link

    Update 3GS to 4.1 WITHOUT Baseband update - TESTED 100% Working - GSM-Forum

If this link works great if not all you need to google is " custom ipsw 4.1 without baseband update" save this file and when your on the step that uses i tunes then choose this file.
