iphone almost dead lol

hi guys
got a friends iphone 3gs here, he upgraded baseband to unlock.
but selected the 3gs as newer model, wen infact it wasnt!
cydia loaded with white icon, but would not run. he then proceeded to do a restore!!!!!!!!
now stuck in connect to itunes mode (recovery) as i think i need to restore custom firmware to it.
how can i make custom firmware?
running win xp pro
iphone on 4.2.1 with upgraded baseband to 6.15

You are at stock 4.2.1 with a different baseband will definitely throw out a recovery error.
I don't think Pwnage tool 4.1.3 is configured to create a CFW of 4.2.1 for 3gs yet.

so ur saying that at this moment in time, the iphone is stuck on the "connect to itunes" state untill its possible for someone to create a CFW?

Alright , this is what you have to do:
Download Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 and download the stock 4.1 ipsw.
Run Redsn0w and browsw to 4.1 ipsw and check only the box that say DFU mode only.
Once your DfU is done.
Open up itunes and shift + restore to this custom firmware which I have included in your pm box.
Once you have restored, install Ultrasn0w to unlock.
