Default Just to clarify the Data thing

So I posted a thread before about how T-Mobile charged me a $50 fee for apparently using their internet even though I was under the understanding that I was using a WiFi connection. Apparently it was because I had the Data option flipped on.

Just to clarify, switching the Data thing to off in Settings>General>Network will connect straight to Wifi and not go through my cell phone provider right? So I won't get that stupid $50 fee at the end of the month for using my colleges FREE wifi?

Are you jailbroken? You can achieve no data by using the toggle in SBSettings. You can also do it through the Settings app.

    ^^ spot on.

Either disabling cell data in Settings->General->Network or through the SBSettings toggle if jailbroken should stop the cell data, yes.

Actually, if you don't think you'll use cell data on that line at all, give T-Mobile a call (611 from your T-Mobile USA phone) and ask them to disable/block data access on that line. They hopefully will oblige.
