quick question about JB

hello just a quick few questions on jailbreaking my 3gs.

i am currently looking into jailbreaking my iphone. i recently upgraded it to the new update ios4.2. my phone isnt unlocked and is with the 3 network.
wondering if its still possible to jailbreak? dont want it unlocking.
and when you do jailbreak can you still use itunes and app store to upgrade apps with?

jailbreak is out but depending on the model , might be tehtered (need to jailbreak every time ur phone turns off) or untethered

You can use idetector to determine if you have old or new bootrom. This will tell you whether the current 4.2.1 jailbreak will be tethered or untethered.

Thanks what's the bootrom mean? And do you know what happens with updating apps? If it still let's you do this? Thanks again!

Bootrom is what initializes the phone turning on and all that stuff...too much to get into but whats important is that if u have an older bootrom your good, if it's a newer version then its a little complicated
