So confused about iPhone 4.2 jailbreak/unlock. Please help
Hello,
I've been reading tutorials for weeks and weeks now. It just seems like there is so much to do in order to jailbreak/unlock an iPhone now.
I understand the process, and have jailbroken iPhones/iPods in the past, but I'm just very confused with the steps I need to take. I'm wondering if someone could just please posts a step by step for me...Do I need to preserve my baseband? Do I use TinyUmbrella? etc...
I've got an iPhone 3GS that requires an unlock.
It's version 4.0.1 (8A306)
Baseband firmware is: 05.13.04
I'm looking to go to 4.2.1 and I will need to unlock.
I know there's a jailbreak and an unlock for 4.2.1. I've been reading the tutorials over at iclarified. I just don't know if I need to preserve my baseband, and how to go about that.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be wonderful...Even something as simple as, yes it's possible...You need to do this...
If you need an unlock, then you should preserve your baseband for unlock by restoring to custom firmware of 4.1
Even though 4.2 is out, there is no jailbreak that will preserve your baseband.
You can restore to custom firmware of 4.1 created by Pwnage tools 4.1.2 or Snonwbreeze 2.1
