    Question Should I upgrade/update?

I have an 3G with 3.1.2 (05.11.07)and when I try to download an app it says that the 4.0 upgrade is needed. My phone is JB and unlocked and would need to be if I update. Should I just leave it alone and deal with it or is there an easy way to upgrade without messing anything up? I am finding it to be slow and takes forever just to flip screens, open programs...etc. If I can upgrade to say 4.1 can I still keep my unlock? Can anyone be so kind as to walk me through it. I am too scared to attempt it alone

    TIA

You can update to 4.1 and preserve your baseband by using a pwnage tool made custom 4.1 firmware. However 4.0 and up run very slow on a 3G. If you are experiencing slowness issues now it wont get better by updating (will probably be worse).

Ok thanks. I thought that I had read/heard that 4.1 was better and not as bad.

Maybe I will stick to where I am then. I am going to be getting a Iphone 4 in about 4 months so I can put up with it until then.

It is better than 4.0, but still slower than pre 4.0 firmwares
